For a coach starting out in grassroots football at Dundrum FC, we ensure that they are fully Garda Vetted through the FAI. It is a statutory requirement, that all individuals, volunteers or paid, working with children and vulnerable persons have completed Garda Vetting before engaging with an organisation or services.
They will then complete an FAI Safeguarding One course. This is a mandatory requirement that all coaches complete this course. This course provides coaches with an understanding of a child-centred environment in sport whilst also setting out the statutory guidance for responding to and reporting concerns of abuse.
